PitchLinq Privacy Policy
Effective date: Oct 21, 2026
Overview
PitchLinq is a coaching-communication app used by baseball and softball coaches to send pitch calls and messages to players' watches during games and practices. It works by connecting over Bluetooth to a PitchLinq hub — a piece of hardware owned and operated by your own team, not by us. PitchLinq does not operate any cloud servers, and using the app does not create an online account. Everything the app needs stays either on your phone or on your team's own hub hardware.
Information We Collect
When you use PitchLinq, the app handles the following:
Coach PIN — a short numeric PIN you enter to log in, verified by your team's own hub, not by us. It is not tied to any personal account, email address, or identity.
Coach name — the name associated with your coach profile on the hub, used to attribute messages you send (e.g. "Sent by Coach Smith").
Team configuration — pitch types, locations, quick messages, player roster, and watch group assignments your team has set up on its hub.
Sent-message log — a record of the pitch calls and messages sent from your device, kept for your own reference.
We do not collect your email address, phone number, precise location, or any other personally identifying information beyond what's listed above.
Bluetooth Use
PitchLinq uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to connect to your team's PitchLinq hub — the only device it connects to. This connection is used to log in, send pitch calls and messages, and read your team's roster and watch battery status. The app does not scan for, connect to, or exchange data with any other Bluetooth device.
On Android, Bluetooth scanning requires the operating system to also request location permission — this is a requirement of Android itself, not something PitchLinq uses for any purpose. PitchLinq does not access, collect, or store your location at any point.
Data Storage and Retention
Your sent-message log is stored locally on your phone and is never transmitted to us or to any third party. You can clear it at any time from within the app.
Your coach PIN (stored as a hash, never in plain text), team roster, message configuration, and group settings are stored on your team's own PitchLinq hub hardware, not on a server we operate.
PitchLinq does not operate any cloud backend, database, or server that stores your data. If your team's hub is reset or replaced, the team data stored on it is cleared along with it.
Third-Party Sharing
PitchLinq does not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third party. The app contains no advertising, no analytics software, and no third-party tracking of any kind.
Children's Privacy
PitchLinq is intended for use by coaches, not by children. The app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Player names appearing in a team's roster are entered and managed by coaches as part of normal team administration, not collected directly from players.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted at this same URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
